The Seven Dreams Education Foundation (SDEF) is dedicated to helping the learners of Robbinsdale Area Schools (RAS) succeed by funding innovative education initiatives that enhance individual skills and experiences.

The Seven Dreams Education Foundation is an independent, non-profit 501 (c)(3) education foundation founded by community members, parents and education professionals of Robbinsdale Area Schools.  Since SDEF’s inception in 2003, the Foundation has funded 112 grants to support student success and maximize individual academic potential.

The “Seven” represents the seven communities in the Robbinsdale Area School District:  Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Crystal, Golden Valley, New Hope, Plymouth and Robbinsdale.

Instruments 4 Kids?

The Instruments for Kids campaign was a year and a half initiative kicked off by the Music in the Streets event. Seven Dreams, in collaboration with district band / orchestra staff, identified a huge need.   There were students in the district that wanted to learn an instrument but whose families could not afford to rent/buy the instrument.  

Seven Dreams raised over $35,000 towards the purchase of new instruments that Band/Orchestra teachers lend each year to students.  Additionally, through an active media campaign, the community donated 117 used instruments that were cleaned and/or repaired, and put in the hands of music teachers for students in need.
