Graduated from North Hennepin Community College in 1968 with an AA Degree. Graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BS Degree in Forestry in 1970. Also got married to my wife, Judy, in June of 1970. Then "won" the lottery and spent the next 21 months in the Army stationed at Ft. Carson, in Colorado Springs, CO. Received an early discharge to go back to school.

Received a Masters of Education Degree in Parks and Recreation Administration in 1974. Worked in the finance field from 1975 to 2005 with Fidelity Acceptance, Green Tree Acceptance, TCF Bank, and Wells Fargo.

Both my wife and I retired May. 2005. We had a cabin in Wisconsin from 1982 to the spring of 2016 on Whitefish Lake near Hayward, WI. We purchased a home in The Villages, Florida, in March, 2006, and have enjoyed retirement very much and are very active. I have one son, Ryan, and three grandchildren, Madeline (16), Gavin (12), and Dylan (9)
